External Advisory Board

Engagement, Development and Outreach

  • Purpose: Help engage and build relationships and partnerships with individuals and organizations to support the financial and community outreach objectives of the institute.
  • Rationale: This committee will help the Institute identify and connect with relational capital to grow its programs and impact sustainably. It will:
    • Cultivate relationships with potential donors and organizations to support the programs, affiliate centers, and translational objectives of the institute (1st in human studies for our RE technologies)
    • Amplify the Institute’s visibility and reputation nationwide and abroad
      • Support philanthropic efforts through strategic introductions

Industry Circle

  • Purpose: To initiate and strengthen strategic partnerships with industry leaders to identify common challenges that will benefit from institute-industry collaborations.
  • Rationale: Engaging industry is critical for applied research, workforce development, and innovation translation. This committee provides a structured platform for board members to:
    • Facilitate industry-institute collaborations.
    • Align the Institute’s initiatives with evolving industry and clinical needs.
    • Create pathways for internships, joint projects, and advisory input on curriculum or research direction.

Translational Research

  • Purpose: To support the institute’s translational research mission by expanding the Institute’s network with CROs, regulatory experts, start-up companies in the regenerative engineering space, and clinical partners and collaborators.
  • Rationale: The Institute’s success depends on a vibrant, relevant, and collaborative research ecosystem. This committee:
    • Advice on impact of institute ongoing research and new projects.
    • Facilitate connections to people and organizations with specialized expertise for translational research success.
    • Helps position the Institute as a hub for cutting-edge, translational research.
